Description of the center

A training facility for endoscopic surgery including three video trainers, a virtual reality simulator (Simbionix) and a 3D video system (Visionsense) used mainly for research.

List of ongoing projects

Postgraduate research projects:

  • Learning curve and decay of skills using video and virtual reality triners
  • Construct and content validity of the Simbionix VR trainer
  • 3D video influence on complex endoscopic tasks performance.

PhD research:

  • The influence of haptic feedback on learning of endoscopic skills in reference to complexity of tasks.
